Chicken of the Sea.... you need to be protested! - a message from greenpeace

Watch the shocking footage obtained by Greenpeace and tell Chicken of the Sea to end the use of destructive fish aggregating devices (FADs).

It happens every day out on the water: Sharks, sea turtles, rays, dolphins and other animals are all brutally murdered for the sole purpose of getting canned tuna on the grocer’s shelf.

To the crews working on board these fishing vessels, it’s just part of the job and to tuna companies like Chicken of the Sea, it’s just the hidden cost of doing business. Until now.

Thanks to an industry whistle-blower, Greenpeace has obtained firsthand footage of the destruction caused by fish aggregation devices (FADs) and the ships that use them. The video pulls no punches in portraying the waste and cruelty of these operations. It truly is shocking and it has to stop.

So please take a minute to watch this video and then take action by sending a message to Chicken of the Sea asking them to end the use of FADs. Our goal is to make sure the company knows that 30,000 people have seen this video and are demanding change.

These fishing practices are putting endangered species and entire ocean ecosystems at risk of collapse. All because companies like Chicken of the Sea would rather cut corners than do things the right way.

We have the power to change this by putting pressure on Chicken of the Sea and other tuna companies to clean up their act.

Take action today and help put an end to the wasteful and destructive use of FADs by the tuna industry.

For the oceans,

Casson Trenor
Greenpeace Senior Markets Campaigner
