My Quest for natural skincare- thats also 'conflict' free.

Okay so I am trying to switch to a natural skincare product that works for my skin care needs. I have already switched my makeup to 'bare essentials' and i'm pretty happy with this change. However, the skincare change has not been so easy. A third generation avon customer I have always sworn by their products but,I was disappointed when I inquired and was given the following information:

"It may be disappointing to know that Avon does not have a list of products containing the ingredients called Parables, Sulfates, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, GMO'S and Triclosan."

My heart sank. I will no longer support the local company that my grandmother taught me how to use makeup with...

I then went to Sephora's website, Google and other department store websites to see what they have under their "natural" skincare products. Being a responsible consumer, I look at products, ingredients, cost, consumer reviews and then I  research the company itself. I have decided to stay away from companies like Philosophy, who's parent company had money invested by the Bin Laden family, and Estee Lauder, as they are supporters of Israel (which I'm not anti Israel but i don't beleive in the oppression of any group of people including Palestinians). You'd be surprised how many companies are ruled out based on my criteria. (For example Estee Lauder owns origins, mac, Bobbi brown, and the list goes on and on) This resulted in many brands being ruled out as are held by larger companies that violate my ethics rule.)

After several weeks of disappointment I decided maybe to order one more time from Avon until I find a new brand. While on the site I saw a name I hadn't seen before Liz Earle.

So I researched it. At first I thought it was only in the UK but wait, its now available in the US. Its a natural skincare company owned by two women who beleive in what they do, known as a "cult favorite" in the UK, which has joined forces with, you guessed it, AVON! For those of you concerned: no its not made by Avon, no it didn't change when Avon bought in, and no its not in their catalog (its called business people read up on it - at least those of you who went crazy when this merger happened last year.) It has everything I want in a product, great reviews, a great price, no dirty corporate history (I know Avon tested on animals but they stopped like over 20 years ago who didn't back then).

OK so I'm trying it. I ordered some of the try me sizes.  I'll report back. But im hopeful.... really hopeful.

The owner writes some great stuff on the subject and here is a link to one of her articles:
